The Sixth Avenue Bridge geotechnical boring program will begin Monday, March 19th and should be complete before April 6th, weather permitting. Work will be completed during daytime hours, and one lane of alternating traffic is expected to remain open via a flagman. The work being performed is part of the current Local Concept Development Bridge Study. The borings will help obtain information on the physical properties of subsurface soil and rock around the bridge. That information will contribute to discussions about future design considerations.
